Shawn Gross Farrier Hoof and steel

My horseshoeing journey started back in 2014 when i got into Walla Walla Community Collage. they had a at the time an associate of applied science in Farrier Science Degree that they offered. unfortunately they have shut down that program since then. after I graduated in 2016 I moved back into the Cusick area

in Pend Orielle County. I have been on a journey of trial and error figuring out business strategies not having a background in business I’ve figured out many lessons on how to better advertise and operate a business. i have been raised around horses and have always loved them.

In class we were taught the anatomy of a horses leg fronts and hinds, lameness issues, diseases that can affect the foot. we were also underneath horses shoeing and trimming nearly every day of class. when we didn’t have horses we had blacksmithing practice, smithing horseshoes from straight bar stock so we would learn handmades as well as shoe shaping and shoe modifications.
